What is Million Dollar Quartet about?
Million Dollar Quartet is inspired by the real events of 4 December 1956, when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins found themselves together at Sun Records in Memphis. The impromptu jam session became one of the most celebrated moments in rock ’n’ roll history.
The stage musical turns that meeting into an evening of live music, personality clashes, friendships and stories from the early days of rock ’n’ roll. The show received three Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical.
