Disney’s Hercules is in its final West End summer — and if you love Greek mythology, big Disney songs and a proper Underworld villain, this is one to catch before it closes.
Disney’s Hercules in London: final dates
Disney’s Hercules is playing at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London until Saturday 5 September 2026. This is the production’s final extension, so there is only a short time left to see the musical in the West End.
Inspired by Disney’s 1997 animated film and the ancient myth of Heracles, the show brings together gods, monsters, big voices and a journey to the Underworld. It is a brilliant theatre choice for families, Disney fans and anyone who enjoys seeing mythology retold in a fresh way.
What is Hercules about?
Hercules is a young demigod raised among mortals, trying to work out where he belongs. To prove that he is a true hero and earn his place on Mount Olympus, he trains with Phil, falls for Meg and has to face the schemes of Hades.
It is a story about identity, self-belief, love and discovering that being a hero is about more than strength. The new stage musical has music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw.
Final London cast
For the final West End run, Broadway performer Bradley Gibson takes on the title role. The company also includes Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg and the fabulous Muses, whose storytelling is one of the things that makes the Disney version so memorable.
Hercules and Hadestown: a mythology theatre trail
Hercules makes a lovely companion to Hadestown. Where Hadestown takes a darker, folk-and-jazz route through the myths of Orpheus, Eurydice, Hades and Persephone, Hercules is a brighter, family-friendly adventure through Olympian gods, heroic trials and the Underworld.
