Halloween at the Old Royal Naval College 2026: Film Music & Murder Mystery

Old Royal Naval College Halloween Film Music Live and Murder Mystery events

Halloween at the Old Royal Naval College 2026 offers two very different ways to spend Halloween night in Greenwich: a family-friendly live film-music concert in the Chapel and an after-hours murder mystery in historic Admiral’s House.

Spending Halloween in Greenwich? The Old Royal Naval College has two very different choices on 31 October: recognisable spooky film scores performed live in the Chapel, or a 16+ murder mystery inside Admiral’s House. The timings overlap, so this guide helps you pick the right one before booking.

Latest Update

Both events take place on Saturday 31 October 2026. Halloween Film Music LIVE! runs from 6.30pm–7.45pm, while the Murder Mystery Halloween Edition runs from 7pm–10pm. They overlap, so they are alternatives rather than a double bill.

Halloween Film Music LIVE!

Docklands Sinfonia performs a 75-minute Halloween programme in the Chapel of St Peter & St Paul. The current programme ranges from horror and supernatural favourites to darker family films, with music from Psycho, Jaws, The Mummy, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ghostbusters, Hocus Pocus, Harry Potter and more.

The programme is subject to change. The recommended age is 5+.

What’s on the Programme?

Current highlights include Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, music from Psycho including the opening credits and shower scene, Jaws, Harry Potter, The Mummy, Edward Scissorhands, The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Ghostbusters.

Murder Mystery Halloween Edition

If you want something older and more interactive, the Murder Mystery Halloween Edition takes over Admiral’s House from 7pm–10pm. Teams have 90 minutes to investigate, search for clues and interrogate suspects before trying to solve the case.

The event is recommended for ages 16+.

Which Event Is Right for You?

Choose Halloween Film Music LIVE! if you want a seated, atmospheric cultural evening with recognisable film scores and a family-friendly 5+ recommendation.

Choose the Murder Mystery if you want a more active, clue-solving experience aimed at older teenagers and adults. Because the timings overlap, you will need to pick one.

Tickets

Halloween Film Music LIVE!: £35 adults, £10 children, with family tickets currently listed at £68–£75.

Murder Mystery Halloween Edition: £30 adults and £27 concessions.

Accessibility

The Old Royal Naval College has step-free routes across much of the site and provides free companion, carer or personal-assistant tickets for ticketed areas and events. The Chapel has wheelchair access via a lift from College Way, but the venue asks wheelchair users to arrange this in advance so a member of staff is available to assist. The Chapel also has a hearing loop.

The wider site offers accessible toilets, a visual guide, BSL resources, audio-description resources, ear defenders and welcomes assistance dogs. These are general site facilities and resources; they should not be read as a promise that every adjustment or format forms part of each Halloween event. Contact the venue in advance for event-specific access needs.

Current access note: the Painted Hall lift is listed as temporarily out of order. That does not affect the Chapel lift information above, but visitors planning to use other parts of the site should check the latest access page before travelling.

Getting There

The Old Royal Naval College is in central Greenwich at London SE10 9NN. It is close to Cutty Sark DLR, Greenwich station, local bus routes and river services.

Practical Information

Food is not permitted inside the Chapel during the concert, and only bottled water is allowed. The grounds remain open later than the daytime attractions, but Halloween event ticketing is separate from normal daytime admission.
