Funkercise & Scott – A 2013 Fitness Archive Post

Funkercise in 2013

This early Clarissa’s Corner post looked at Funkercise, a high-energy fitness class created by Scott, a local instructor whose classes I had attended myself.

I remember Scott putting the class through its paces and bringing a big, upbeat personality to the workout. He had started small, built up regular sessions and events, and was working to turn the idea into a wider fitness venture.

Britain’s Got Talent

At the time, Scott had also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, where the Funkercise routine reached a much wider audience. The original version of this post repeated several contemporary tabloid claims about his experience on the programme. I’m not reproducing those old claims here because this archive page is about my own experience of the class and the project itself.

Fundraising and Community

What stood out to me was Scott’s energy and willingness to use Funkercise for events and fundraising. I remember seeing the routine used as part of a Shelter fundraiser in London, which fitted the very community-minded side of the project I knew.

2026 Archive Update

This post is retained as part of Clarissa’s Corner’s early local-events and lifestyle archive. It records a fitness venture I experienced personally in 2013, rather than acting as current information about classes, bookings or Scott’s work today.
