Exciting news for theatre lovers! Born With Teeth is heading to Wyndham’s Theatre from 13 August to 1 November 2025. This electrifying new drama reimagines the fiery relationship between Shakespeare and Marlowe.
The play is written by Liz Duffy Adams and directed by Daniel Evans. It’s backed by a powerhouse team: the Royal Shakespeare Company, Playful Productions, and Elizabeth Williams. This gripping West End production will blend politics, rivalry, and raw ambition into an unforgettable experience.

✨ Ncuti Gatwa stars as Christopher Marlowe
Known for Doctor Who and Sex Education, Ncuti plays the bold, unpredictable Marlowe with intensity and charm.
🎭 Edward Bluemel takes on William Shakespeare
You may know Edward from Killing Eve or A Discovery of Witches. Here, he portrays a young, ambitious Shakespeare. Their chemistry on stage promises fireworks.
🔪 A razor-sharp script
Across three secretive meetings in a pub, Shakespeare and Marlowe clash with wit and suspicion. With spies lurking, their verbal duels crackle with innuendo, ego, and danger.
🎬 Direction by Daniel Evans
This marks Evans’ London directorial debut for the RSC. He brings experience from Quiz, American Buffalo, and South Pacific.
🎨 Creative brilliance
Set and costume design by Joanna Scotcher (Emilia), with lighting by Neil Austin (Tony and Olivier winner), set the mood. Their work adds texture and tension to every scene.
