Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky

Patrick Hamilton’s trilogy is adapted by Simon Reade in a world-premiere production directed by Matthew Iliffe. Set around the Midnight Bell pub in 1929 London, it follows three people caught in love, longing and obsession.

Noga Flaishon’s near-future play imagines a company that can extract human memories and sell them as immersive VR experiences. When Rachel sees a chance to preserve the memories of her grandmother Rivka, the last living Holocaust survivor, questions of remembrance, technology, trauma and commercialisation collide.
