Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of a West End show? TheatreCraft returns on Friday 6 November 2026 with a free day exploring careers in theatre — and you don’t have to dream of performing on stage to find something useful.
Where is TheatreCraft 2026?
The event takes place at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and at venues across London’s West End on Friday 6 November 2026.
What can you do?
Expect free workshops, talks, backstage tours, demonstrations and opportunities to discover the many people and skills involved in making theatre happen, from technical and creative work to roles beyond the stage. Individual sessions and places are subject to the organisers’ programme and booking arrangements.
Is TheatreCraft free?
Yes — the event is advertised as free. However, signing up to the TheatreCraft mailing list does not book a place at the event or reserve any individual workshop or tour. Follow the organiser’s booking announcements and check availability before travelling.
Who is it for?
If you’re interested in theatre, backstage careers, design, lighting, sound, costume, production or simply finding out what a job in the arts might involve, TheatreCraft is worth a look. Check the official event information for any session-specific eligibility, accessibility arrangements or age guidance.
