Aladdin The Musical
The National Autistic Society arranged a relaxed performance for Aladdin The Musical.
It had been booked since we went to see Mama Mia –link–
Due to works at Waterloo, we went via Bus six in total there and back I would say it took over an hour.
It’s always a great feeling to see the theatre lit up with the current performance being shown,
I did a little theatre spotting for fun and as they are near

based on the classic animated film that brings Trevor Dion Nicholas as the genie
In this whole new world rendition of the Disney animated film 1992
Aladdin The Musical opened on Broadway in March 2014
The show is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes,
including a 20-minute interval. providing the fire alarm doesn’t go off and having to be evacuated,
yes, it was an accident and nothing serious kk was finding it hard to keep calm
along with other people in the auditorium. Yet,
that being said I have to say how great the theatre team and
NAS along with the Disney store team handled it
thank you for keeping us safe!
Relaxed Performance
As always the main cast comes out on stage to introduce themselves
to there character names The stage props were very eye-catching and true
Agraba sandstone buildings with orange hues.
The costumes were bedazzling and Princess worthy.
Jasmine
I would have liked to if seen Jasmine played by Jade Ewen,
being sassier in her role, how it’s portrayed in the film you wouldn’t really mess with her.
Aladdin played by Matthew Croke was a sweet character,
and showed good choreography skills building climbing and jumping.
Jafar
Jafar, as played by Don Gallagher, fair played the character.
could even have been a bit darker in his look and speech but this was a good character role.
But, I have to say although I enjoyed watching Aladdin The Musical
I was disappointed that Abu and Raja weren’t included, That saddened me.
what’s Aladdin without them?
I did enjoy The magic Carpet scene.
brought Aladdin The Musical to life.
Robin Williams was the full centre for me in Aladdin. He put so much energy into his roles, and Genie was a massive role for him.
Growing up, he was one of my Idols I wasn’t sure if anyone could be any better.
Genie
So what did Trevor Dion Nicholas character portrayal of Genie,
he was fun bubbly and passionate about his role.
Overall I enjoyed watching Aladdin It’s a must-see.
But for me, Abu and Rajah were missing.
So 4/5 from me

I’m dying to see this! Love the music and the plot. Shame about the animals but I guess that would be quite tricky to do well on stage!
You will like it but they manage it with Lion King- haven’t seen yet !! Lol
Shame your favourite characters were missing but 4/5 isn’t too bad I’d say. Not something I’d ever have considered seeing on stage either. daren’t mention it to my girls, they’ll want to go tomorrow!
That sounds amazing! Relaxed performances are so important. It is really stressful taking a disabled child to the theatre.
I have found KK enjoys going to theatre but Monkey is now having difficulty with it sadly I had a lot of chances to see kid ones but will have to pass them by x
I am planning to go next month so this review was perfect timing! So glad you enjoyed (for the most part) the show, you’re right about no animals- they do it so well for the Lion King!

I’ve seen The Lion King but I’m not sure how you’d fit ‘animal’ and human actors together that well, it still sounds like something my kids would really enjoy though.
Sounds like a wonderful performance! I still have yet to see this show but have heard great things. Glad you enjoyed it and hope the fire alarm wasn’t too disruptive to your time x

I used to love Aladdin as a kid! I haven’t been to any musicals nor Aladdin but it definitely sounds like an experience!
