Hello September 2013

This archive post marks a big change in my life at the time: starting a year-long CACHE Level 2 Children and Young People’s Workforce course at my local college.

Starting College

The course meant three days at college and two days in a work placement. I had already sorted my CRB check and placement, and I was excited to see how the units and practical experience would fit together.

My First Teaching Assistant Placement

I was due to start the placement the following day. I had never really pictured myself in a teaching-assistant role before, so it felt like a completely new direction.

The course also included additional training such as paediatric first aid and food hygiene, alongside the main CACHE qualification.

2026 Archive Update

This post is especially useful to keep because it records an early education and career step in the Clarissa’s Corner archive. It now also connects naturally with the newer Education & Creative Careers section, where training routes and career pathways can be explored in more depth.
