A Pulitzer Prize Finalist Comes to Stratford East
Here There Are Blueberries at Stratford East marks the UK premiere of a powerful, real-event play that confronts history, memory, and moral responsibility. Running from 31 January to 28 February 2026, this acclaimed production arrives in London following multiple celebrated US runs and international recognition.
A co-production between Tectonic Theater Project and Theatre Royal Stratford East, the play was a 2024 Pulitzer Prize finalist, winner of the 2025 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play, and recipient of two Helen Hayes Awards.
About the Production
In 2007, a mysterious album of Nazi-era photographs arrived on the desk of a U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist. What followed was an international reckoning.
Based on real events, Here There Are Blueberries examines these historical images and the disturbing truths they reveal — not only about the perpetrators of the Holocaust, but about the quiet complicity, moral blind spots, and choices that shape humanity itself.
The production blends documentary theatre with live investigation, asking urgent questions that resonate far beyond the archive walls.
Creative Team
Conceived and directed by Moisés Kaufman, Tony and Emmy Award nominee and co-founder of Tectonic Theater Project, the play is co-written with Amanda Gronich, Emmy nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist.
The pair previously collaborated on The Laramie Project, one of the most produced plays in modern theatre history.

Throughout the run, audiences are invited to attend a curated series of post-show conversations featuring moderated discussions with leading ethicists and scholars.
These sessions explore the ethical questions raised by the play and are programmed by FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics), Tectonic Theater Project’s Content and Conversation Partner, in collaboration with Stratford East.
