Amber Davies returns as Elle Woods

Amber Davies is returning to the role of Elle Woods after leading the production on its sold-out UK and Ireland tour.

Her recent theatre credits include Jordan Baker in The Great Gatsby at the London Coliseum, Vivian Ward in the UK tour of Pretty Woman and Lorraine Baines in the West End production of Back to the Future The Musical. She was also runner-up in the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing with Nikita Kuzmin.

What is Legally Blonde The Musical about?

Based on Amanda Brown’s novel and the much-loved 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Coolidge, Legally Blonde The Musical follows Elle Woods as she leaves California for Harvard Law.

Elle may be underestimated by almost everyone around her, but she refuses to shrink herself to fit their expectations. With its bright comedy, big musical numbers and unapologetically pink confidence, the story is ultimately about trusting yourself and proving that intelligence does not have to look only one way.

The musical features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. This production is directed by Curve Artistic Director Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Leah Hill.

Why this West End transfer is on my radar

Legally Blonde has been sitting on my own musical-theatre wishlist for years. I love a stage adaptation that can deliver nostalgia without simply copying the film, and Elle Woods has always been far cleverer, funnier and more determined than the people around her expect.

The limited run also makes this one worth planning ahead for. With Amber Davies returning after the tour and the production moving into the London Coliseum, it feels like the right moment to finally consider ticking it off the list.
