🎭 Musical Con 2025 – My Honest Review
Getting to Musical Con 2025 was refreshingly simple, just one stop on the Elizabeth Line followed by a short walk to the ExCeL London. With thousands of theatre fans buzzing about this year’s lineup, I was excited to see if the hype would live up to expectations.
✨ The Highlights
The Main Stage talent didn’t disappoint. Kerry Ellis was phenomenal — you might’ve caught her in Wonderland, which I reviewed here.
Her voice, stage presence, and warmth had the whole room buzzing
Layton Williams brought his usual charm, sass, and energy.
We also attended a powerful panel on neurodiversity in the theatre industry, which offered some brilliant insight and gave the day real depth.
The Letdown?
I went in expecting something more akin to Comic-Con, A bustling space full of official merchandise, vendor exclusives, and lots to explore. Instead, it was mostly fan-made art (lovely, but not quite what I had hoped for). The number of stalls felt small considering the size of the crowd.
And while the energy was high, it felt like a two-hour experience stretched over a full day, we stayed until close mainly because Kris had a meet and greet booked for 3 pm. I ended up only spending money on food and drink.
That said, the tote bag, enamel pin, and T-shirt included with our ticket were a sweet bonus — and helped ease the merch disappointment a little.
A Special Moment: Jamie Meets Jamie
One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was seeing my cousin’s face light up when they got to meet Ivano Turco, who played Jamie in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
It was more than just a meet and greet — they’d actually written a school essay about him, scored an A, and now here they were meeting him in person. Full circle, full stagey magic 💫
Well done, cousin 👏 You made the day unforgettable.

🎟️ Final Thoughts
Musical Con 2025 had moments of real magic, especially on stage. However, considering the convention has generated so much hype, the overall event felt underwhelming on the vendor and layout fronts. With more official theatre stalls, interactive zones, and better use of space, this con could go from decent to unforgettable.
