Petrified brings live horror storytelling to Hammersmith on 16 October 2026, performing a brand-new supernatural story at the Irish Cultural Centre before a Q&A with its creators and cast. If podcasts are already how you like to scare yourself, this is the interesting bit: hearing an audio drama built in front of a live audience rather than safely through your headphones.

Overview
Petrified tells stories about ordinary people encountering the supernatural and the frightening consequences that follow. For this Halloween-season event, the podcast moves from headphones to a live room while keeping sound and storytelling at the centre of the experience.
Petrified Live
The new story will be performed by Margaret McAuliffe, Michelle McMahon and Donncha O’Dea. The event celebrates five series of the audio drama and is followed by a Q&A with creators Peter Dunne and Liam Geraghty, alongside the cast.
Why Audio Horror Works
Horror does not always need a creature on screen. Sound can force the audience to build the frightening image for themselves: a voice too close to the microphone, a noise with no visible source or a silence held just long enough can do a huge amount of work. A live recording makes that process visible without taking away the imaginative part of audio horror.
