This one-of-a-kind show mixes professional Shakespearean acting with pure unpredictability. Why? Because one actor performs completely drunk. Every night, a different cast member drinks for up to four hours before the curtain rises. The result is a laugh-out-loud version of Hamlet that’s full of surprises.
Created by Magnificent Bastard Productions, this theatrical phenomenon is celebrating 15 years of mayhem. With sell-out West End runs, rave (and famously awful) reviews, and global acclaim, this is Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it before.

A Drunk Actor and Sober Chaos
Each night features a cast of skilled actors—except one. That actor is intentionally drunk. Their wild interruptions, missed cues, and off-script antics keep both cast and audience guessing. The sober performers must adapt on the fly while keeping the story moving.

Director Stacey Norris leads the 15th-anniversary run with irreverent humour. “Fifteen years of drunken debauchery, Shakespearean chaos, and somehow—against all odds—we’re still here,” she says. Expect a mix of wit, anarchy, and unexpected moments.

This isn’t just actors messing around. Lighting design by Tom Williams, sets by Nicola Jones, and choreography from Beth-Louise Priestley bring the production to life. Costumes by Lorna Jean and fight scenes by Robbie Capaldi add to the spectacle.
