The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal will open at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in May 2027, bringing the hit television format to the stage in a completely new way.
Latest Update
Nick Mohammed has been announced as The Host for The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal, with Claudia Winkleman formally swearing him in for the role in a newly released video filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
Mohammed, whose screen credits include Ted Lasso and Slow Horses, was also a finalist in the first series of The Celebrity Traitors. He will take on the role of The Host when previews begin at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 11 May 2027.
Overview
Rather than simply recreating the TV series, the stage version is built as a cycle of five different plays. Each weekday begins from the same starting point but follows a different path depending on who has been selected as a Traitor. Characters who disappear early in one version may survive — or even win — in another.
Saturday performances add another twist: the audience chooses who will wear the cloak, determining which version of the story is played that day.
Cast
Nick Mohammed will play The Host. Further casting is yet to be announced.
Creative Team
The new stage adaptation is written by John Finnemore, whose credits include Cabin Pressure, and directed by Robert Hastie, whose theatre work includes Standing at the Sky’s Edge and Operation Mincemeat. It is produced by Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions.
The full creative team announced so far also includes designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, choreographer Kate Prince, music by Martin Lowe and casting director Stuart Burt CDG CSA.
