UK Horror Conventions & Film Festivals 2027: Dates, Tickets and Planning Guide

Love horror beyond the cinema screen? Here’s our growing UK guide to horror conventions and film festivals in 2027, from independent fan markets to genre-film weekends. Some dates are announced; others remain on the watch list. Always check organisers before booking travel.

Announced 2027 horror events

Horror Fest UK: Leeds and Doncaster

Two horror-themed fan conventions are heading to Yorkshire, featuring independent traders, artists, authors, creators and optional cosplay. These are shopping and fan conventions rather than scare attractions.

Leeds Horror Fest — 18 April 2027

Sunday 18 April, 11am–4pm at Left Bank Leeds. Organiser-listed tickets are £6 in advance or £8 on the door, with under-fives free. More than 30 stalls are advertised; guests are to be announced. Advance wristbands are posted and tickets are non-refundable. Check the organiser’s Leeds booking page.

Doncaster Horror Fest — 11 July 2027

Sunday 11 July, 11am–4pm at Doncaster Dome. Organiser-listed admission is £10 in advance or £12 on the door, with under-fives free. More than 40 stalls are advertised. A limited buy-one-get-one-free advance wristband offer has been advertised, but availability and terms may change. Check Doncaster tickets and current offers directly.

Accessibility and sensory planning

Horror Fest UK describes its events generally as wheelchair-friendly and confirms toilets, but advises that opening times can be busy. Left Bank Leeds offers wheelchair access; contact the venue about accessible parking and toilets for this specific event. Doncaster Dome’s event-specific accessible facilities need checking. Companion tickets, Nimbus, BSL, captions, audio description, quiet spaces, relaxed entry and sensory guidance have not been confirmed for either event. Contact the organiser and venue with your requirements before booking.

Booking note: These are direct organiser links, not affiliate links. Ticket prices, guest line-ups and promotional offers can change.

Horror-on-Sea Film Festival — Southend, January 2027

The festival has announced 15–17 and 22–24 January 2027 in Southend-on-Sea. This independent horror-film festival is a chance to discover emerging filmmakers. Check the programme, age guidance, tickets and access details with The White Bus.

Dead by Dawn — Edinburgh

Dates of 21–25 April 2027 have been reported, but should be treated as provisional until confirmed on the official festival website.

Horror Con Scotland

24 April 2027 has been reported as a possible date. Check the organiser’s website for confirmation of dates, venue, tickets, guests and accessibility.

HorrorConUK — Rotherham, May 2027

HorrorConUK has advertised 22–23 May 2027 at Magna in Rotherham. This is a guest-and-trader convention rather than a film festival. Check HorrorConUK for the latest announcements.

2027 film festival dates to watch

FrightFest

FrightFest has historically held Glasgow, summer London and Halloween editions. Dates circulating for 2027 are not all independently confirmed, so do not book travel around them yet. Follow FrightFest’s official events page.

Other festivals worth monitoring

Keep an eye on Abertoir, Grimmfest, Mayhem, the British Horror Film Festival and London Month of the Dead for their 2027 programmes.

Planning your horror weekend

Convention tickets, guest photo sessions and film festival passes can have different terms. Check age restrictions, refund policies, step-free access, seating, quiet spaces and companion-ticket arrangements directly. Guest and screening line-ups can change.

Updated 30 October 2026. Reported dates are not confirmed bookings; verify all prices and availability with organisers.
