Exciting news for theatre lovers! Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein The Musical is set to make its regional premiere at Hope Mill Theatre from 10 October – 30 November 2025,This laugh-out-loud musical will be directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, whose previous work includes Mame and Burlesque The Musical.
Adapted from Brooks’ 1974 cult-classic film, the show follows Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (or “Fronk-en-steen,” as he insists). After inheriting his grandfather’s infamous castle in Transylvania, he finds himself drawn into the family’s notorious experiments. With the help of his loyal (and slightly unhinged) assistant Igor (“Eye-gore”) and his brilliant but distracting lab partner, Inga, Frederick successfully reanimates a creature. As expected, chaos erupts when the Monster escapes, leading to a series of hilarious musical numbers and comedic mishaps.
