28 August 2026: Disney’s High School Musical officially opened at Lowry, Salford on 27 August 2026. Opening-night guests included Russell T Davies, John Thompson, Ellie Leach, Catherine Tyldesley, Aaron Renfree, Dominic Skinner and Nick Pickard. The production runs at Lowry until 19 September before transferring to Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from 12 October 2026 to 3 January 2027.

Overview

Disney’s High School Musical is heading to the stage for its first UK non-replica production — celebrating 20 years since the original Disney Channel film became a phenomenon.

Cast

Tobias Turley plays Troy Bolton and Leonor Correia is Gabriella Montez, with Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans, Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans and Disney original KayCee Stroh as Ms Darbus.

The wider company includes Char Burnett as Taylor McKessie, Jordan Benjamin as Chad Danforth, Simeon Beckett as Zeke Baylor, Olivia O’Connor as Martha Cox, Yna Tresvalles as Kelsi Nielsen and Curtis Patrick as Jack Scott. Jason Donovan plays Coach Bolton in Salford, with Harry Judd taking over the role for the London run.

Rehearsals are underway, with the cast bringing East High’s basketball court, big ensemble numbers and unmistakable Disney energy into the room ahead of the UK opening.
