The Golden Hinde is a full-size reconstruction of the Elizabethan galleon associated with Francis Drake’s circumnavigation. Today it operates as a museum and events venue on Bankside, with self-guided visits, guided tours, live music, special events and an escape-room experience.
What Can You Do On Board?
General admission includes access to explore the ship and an audio guide in English and Spanish. Special events throughout the year can include museum lates, live music, family activities and after-hours events.
Museum Lates
The 30th Anniversary Museum Late on 17 September 2026 is free to attend from 6pm and includes talks, activities, after-hours exploration and access to the Hinde Bar. A further Museum Late is scheduled for 29 October 2026.

General admission is currently £6 for adults and £6 for children aged 3–16 and concessions. A family ticket for four is £20 and under-threes enter free. Online booking fees may apply.
Opening Times
From April to October, the ship normally opens daily from 10am to 6pm. From November to March, normal opening is 10am to 5pm. Private events and maintenance can affect access, so check the official closure list before travelling.
Accessibility
The Golden Hinde is a historic-style wooden reconstruction with significant access barriers. Entry involves five steps from street level and there is no step-free access. On board there are four levels connected by steep stairs or vertical ladders, with narrow passages, low ceilings and uneven wooden floors.
Practical Information
There are no public toilets or changing facilities for general visitors on board. The nearest stations include London Bridge, Borough and Monument, with river services also available nearby.
