2026 Manchester Tour Archive
Priscilla Queen of the Desert opened its 2026 UK and Ireland tour at Palace Theatre Manchester, where performances ran from 19–28 February 2026. This archive preserves Clarissa’s Corner’s original Manchester coverage and the casting of Adèle Anderson.
The musical combines iconic disco hits and spectacular costumes with a story about identity, friendship and belonging.
Cast
Adèle Anderson, known for Fascinating Aïda, starred as Bernadette. She brought her trademark wit and stage presence to the role.
The story follows three friends travelling through the Australian Outback in a battered bus named Priscilla. Along the way, they explore friendship, courage and self-acceptance.
Creative Team
Ian Talbot OBE directed the production, with choreography by Matt Cole. The producing team was also behind productions including Hairspray, Shrek The Musical and The Full Monty.
Music and Story
The soundtrack features familiar disco favourites, including It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Beyond the music and costumes, the story celebrates friendship and being unapologetically yourself.
