My Spoiler-Free Review
This was one of those films that gave me heartbreak, fear, tension, hope and wonder all in one sitting. The family dynamic gives the horror real weight, so the emotional moments land just as strongly as the frightening ones.
I especially loved the ancient sea-creature mythology. It adds a haunting, almost mythic layer to the story and made me think about who the real monsters are. That eco-horror element is handled with real feeling rather than simply being there for spectacle.
What stayed with me most was how personal the film feels. The danger outside the house matters, but the relationships inside it are what give the story its emotional punch.

As a dog mum, I found the animal scenes particularly upsetting, so I wanted to flag that clearly for anyone who may need to know before watching.
Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely, if you enjoy atmospheric survival horror with emotional depth, uneasy mythology and themes that give you something to think about afterwards. It is tense, moving and much more than a straightforward end-of-the-world thriller.
