UB40 Labour of Love at The O2 – 2016 Concert Archive

UB40 Labour of Love concert artwork from the 2016 O2 Arena show

Archive note: This post records my 2016 trip to The O2 in London to see UB40 Labour of Love live. I’ve kept the original memories and song choices, while tidying the page so it works as part of the Clarissa’s Corner concert archive.

Seeing UB40 Live at The O2

I had booked tickets to see UB40 Labour of Love featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue. UB40 were a huge part of the music I grew up around, so finally hearing those songs live felt incredibly nostalgic.

It turned into a fantastic night and, at the time, only my second-ever concert. Sharing the experience with my mum made it especially memorable.

Labour of Love: Favourite Songs

The set drew heavily from the Labour of Love albums, which meant plenty of songs already wrapped up in old memories.

  • Cherry Oh Baby
  • Please Don’t Make Me Cry
  • Red Red Wine
  • Many Rivers to Cross

Labour of Love II

Labour of Love II also contains several tracks that instantly take me back, including:

  • Groovin’
  • Kingston Town
  • Homely Girl
