More than a costume walk
World Zombie Day grew from a 2006 event at Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh, associated with George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. London’s version brings horror fans together around creativity, community and fundraising.
The 2026 walk raises money for The Dead Good Club, a Community Interest Company working around attention, AI and digital-media literacy, healthier digital habits and real-world connection.
Accessibility and practical planning
The organisers say accessible routes are planned for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Because the walk moves through public streets, road blocks or other obstructions may occasionally require alternative routes. Anyone needing specific arrangements can contact the organiser in advance.
Children are welcome, with under-18s accompanied by a parent or guardian. Well-behaved dogs on leads can join. Costumes are encouraged rather than compulsory.
