Face Your Fears Week
Face your fears this week! I certainly think I will do that this half-term, especially with the planned line-up.
Family fun and days out, from wickedly spooky adventures to terrifying treetop heights. Seriously, I had never had so many challenges ahead of me.
But I wasn’t going to let that stop me from exploring new things. Halloween is my favourite time of the year, so spooky season felt like the perfect excuse to have some fun and push myself a little further.
I’m scared and excited to be trying so many new things, that’s for sure!

Our Halloween Half-Term Plan
21 October – Ripley’s Wicked

Our London visit to Ripley’s Believe It or Not for its Wicked-themed event, complete with costumes, curiosities and a few moments that definitely fitted the Face Your Fears brief.
22 October – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

A colourful family theatre trip bringing Eric Carle’s familiar stories to life with puppetry, bright staging and plenty for younger audiences to watch.
24 October – Rest day
25 October – Kidtropolis

Our Kidtropolis event day at ExCeL London, including the activities the children enjoyed, the practical bits that worked and the parts of the first-day experience that could have been smoother.
26 October – Rest day
27 October – Muck Boot at Kew Gardens
28 October – SlimeFest

We travelled to Guildford for a gloriously messy Halloween science-and-slime adventure — very much outside my comfort zone, which made it a fitting finale to the week.
Why I Kept This Week
There were so many things in this week that I probably would never have tried if I hadn’t been pushed to give them a go. That was really the point of the challenge: not pretending I wasn’t nervous, but doing something new anyway.
I waited until the end of the events to add photographs and link up the individual days, so the post became a little Halloween diary as well as a challenge.
