Christmas at Alton Towers is a very different experience from a standard theme-park day. For 2026, the Santa Sleepover turns a visit into a full festive family break, with a themed hotel stay, selected family rides, Santa’s Grotto, a pantomime, festive food and extra resort activities included in the package.
Alton Towers Santa Sleepover 2026 Dates
Santa Sleepovers are running on selected dates from 27 November to 23 December 2026. Availability varies by date and accommodation, so it is worth checking your preferred stay rather than relying on a headline price.
What’s Included in a Santa Sleepover?
The current 2026 package includes an overnight stay in Alton Towers Resort accommodation, one day of Theme Park entry with a seasonal selection of family rides and attractions, a visit to Santa’s Grotto, festive Theme Park entertainment, a live pantomime and an evening meal.
On the second day, the package also includes buffet breakfast, a Waterpark session and nine holes of Extraordinary Golf. Free parking is included with the short break.
Meeting Santa
Santa’s Grotto is part of the Sleepover package, with children able to meet Santa and receive a gift. Your Grotto, pantomime and Waterpark sessions need to be reserved as part of the booking process, so don’t leave those details until you arrive.
Which Alton Towers Hotels Can You Stay In?
Accommodation options currently shown for the festive breaks include Alton Towers Hotel, CBeebies Land Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel and the Woodland Lodges in the Enchanted Village. Which one makes most sense will depend on your family, budget and the type of theming you want from the stay.
Does the Full Theme Park Open at Christmas?
No — this is important when comparing a Christmas stay with a normal Alton Towers visit. The Santa Sleepover includes a reduced seasonal selection of family rides and attractions, rather than the entire Theme Park line-up. Specific rides and experiences can also change because of availability, operations and weather.
