Overview
Despite the name, Beckenham Place Park is managed by the London Borough of Lewisham. The park combines open green space, woodland, play areas, historic buildings and leisure facilities, making it useful for family days out, walks, nature time and seasonal events.
The park is open to pedestrians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Individual businesses and facilities have their own opening times.
What You Can Do

Beckenham Place Mansion
The Grade II* Georgian Mansion sits inside the park and hosts public events, artist studios, classes, markets and creative businesses. It also has a bar and café. The Mansion itself is only open to the public for booked classes and public events, while the Mansion Bar & Café has separate public opening hours.
The current programme includes regular yoga, wellbeing and craft sessions alongside family-friendly events. For October 2026, the Mansion’s family programme currently lists a little folk Halloween pop-up for early years on 29 October. A little folk Christmas sing-song is also listed for 17 December 2026. Always confirm the latest details directly with the Mansion before travelling.
Seasonal Watch: Halloween & Christmas
Beckenham Place Park has hosted substantial Halloween, half-term and Christmas programmes in previous years, including family fairs, nature activities and festive attractions. However, older events will not be rolled forward automatically. Clarissa’s Corner will only add 2026 dates once they are confirmed by the park, Mansion or organiser.
The park’s current official events page still shows the weekly Food and Farmers Market as an ongoing fixture. The Mansion calendar is the stronger source for currently confirmed autumn activities.
Accessibility
The Mansion says it is easily accessible for wheelchair users and has a disabled toilet. Public toilets in the Homestead Courtyard include a separate unisex accessible cubicle and baby-changing facilities.
The park is large and includes natural outdoor surfaces, so conditions may vary around woodland and grassed areas. Lake operator PTP Coaching says group sessions can be tailored for people with additional needs or EHCPs; contact the operator directly before booking to discuss individual requirements.

- Toilets: public toilets are in the Homestead Courtyard.
- Dogs: dogs are welcome in much of the park but are not permitted in the lake or playgrounds.
- Food: the Homestead Café and Mansion Bar & Café provide on-site options, with opening times varying.
