The Wolverine (2013)

The Wolverine follows Logan to Japan, where an old connection from his past draws him into a story involving the Yashida family, questions around his healing ability and a new set of enemies.

My 2013 Review

I wasn’t a huge Marvel or DC fan at the time, but after watching the earlier Wolverine film I definitely wanted to see this one.

I remember being on the edge of my seat. The action and visual effects really worked for me, Hugh Jackman was excellent as Logan, and I particularly liked Yukio. She initially seemed quiet, but quickly proved to be one of the strongest and most memorable characters in the film.

The Japanese setting also gave the story a different feel, and the film mixed Logan’s past, his vulnerability and the action well enough that I came away genuinely impressed.

2026 Archive Update

This review is preserved as part of Clarissa’s Corner’s film archive and reflects my reaction when I saw The Wolverine in 2013. It now sits naturally alongside the wider Film & TV and Chill & Thrill archive.
