A Squash and a Squeeze Live 2026: UK Tour Guide

Latest update: A Squash and a Squeeze is touring the UK in 2026 in a Little Angel Theatre and Lowry co-production. The stage adaptation is recommended for ages 3–8 and runs for approximately one hour.

A Squash and a Squeeze Live

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book comes to life with puppetry, songs and plenty of farmyard chaos. A little old lady thinks her cottage is far too small, but the wise old man has a rather unusual solution: bring the animals inside.

The production is a Little Angel Theatre and Lowry co-production, adapted for the stage by Barb Jungr and Samantha Lane.

Who Is It For?

The production is recommended for children aged around 3–8, making it a lovely first-theatre option for younger audiences already familiar with the book.

2026 UK Tour

The show has been travelling to venues around the UK during 2026. Confirmed venue listings show a running time of around one hour. As individual dates pass, this guide will be updated with newly announced performances rather than keeping expired dates in the main listings.

Puppetry, Music & Learning

This is a particularly nice book-to-stage adaptation to explore with children because the story lends itself to counting, sequencing, animals, homes and space. The production combines puppetry with original songs and storytelling, giving us plenty to link into our wider books, adaptations and creative-learning coverage.

Accessibility

Access arrangements vary between tour venues, so check the individual theatre when booking for relaxed performances, wheelchair spaces, hearing support or other access requirements.
