The Gruffalo Live 2026: 25th Anniversary West End & UK Dates

Latest update: Tall Stories’ much-loved adaptation of The Gruffalo celebrates 25 years on stage in 2026, with a West End season at the Lyric Theatre followed by selected UK dates.

The Gruffalo Live 2026

Mouse is heading back into the deep dark wood. Based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Tall Stories’ stage adaptation mixes storytelling, songs, physical theatre and plenty of silliness as Mouse meets Fox, Owl, Snake — and eventually a creature with terrible tusks and terrible claws.

The production is designed as an introduction to live theatre for younger children, but there is plenty here for grown-ups who know the book by heart too.

2026 Dates

  • Lyric Theatre, London: 17 July–6 September 2026.
  • Darlington Hippodrome: 29 September–1 October 2026.
  • Soho Theatre Walthamstow: 12–13 December 2026.
