Haunting Atmosphere at Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Theatre Royal Drury Lane provided the perfect eerie setting for Danny Robin’s Uncanny: I Know What I Saw live UK tour. With our great seats, we were immersed in an atmosphere that was both chilling and captivating. The stage setup was simple yet effective, with three white projectors creating an illusion of movement and depth, enhancing the uncanny experience.
Believers vs. Sceptics: A Fascinating Debate
The show tackled the controversial subject of paranormal phenomena, attracting a diverse audience of both believers and sceptics. Danny Robins served as an excellent mediator, facilitating discussions and presenting case stories that left many questioning their own beliefs. Personally, as a believer with numerous experiences, I found the reenactments to be particularly compelling and authentic.
Expert Insights and Audience Participation
Dr. Ciaran O’Keefe provided valuable scientific insights, explaining how heightened anxiety and environmental factors could lead to experiences often interpreted as supernatural. However, some cases defied easy explanations, adding to the intrigue. Alongside Danny and Dr. O’Keefe, Evelyn Hollow, a staunch believer, brought her expertise from The Witch Farm podcast, enriching the debate. Audience participation was encouraged, allowing attendees to share their own experiences, which Dr. O’Keefe would attempt to debunk, adding another layer of engagement and excitement to the evening.

I’ve been wanting to see this show for a while now, after listening to the podcasts and watching the tv series, it seemed the most obvious thing to do.
Danny kicked the show off with his backstory of how he got interested in the paranormal which started when he was a child. We were then introduced to Dr Ciarán O’Keefe, who you might know for Most Haunted, and then Evelyn Hollow who is a strong believer in ghosts, just to add that the two of them feature on Danny’s podcast, which gives a nice mixture of opinions on the paranormal.
Two case studies
The show consists of 2 case studies which are projected onto screens behind Danny, they are shown in short bursts so that we can get a paranormal POV as well as a scientific POV, props are also used on stage to add to the intensity of the show.
Danny also asks the audience to get involved by scanning a QR code with a snippet of your own experience and he will invite you to tell the story.
