Walking with The Snowman 2026: Bath, Belsay Hall & Wrest Park Family Trail Guide

Fancy a festive walk with a little Raymond Briggs nostalgia? Walking with The Snowman™ is bringing twelve larger-than-life Snowman sculptures to three UK locations for Christmas 2026, each decorated around a verse of The Twelve Days of Christmas.

Walking with The Snowman 2026: locations and dates

  • Bath city centre, Somerset: 19 November 2026–28 January 2027. A free-to-explore city-centre trail.
  • Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Northumberland: 7 November 2026–10 January 2027. Included with standard English Heritage admission; free entry for members.
  • Wrest Park, Bedfordshire: 7 November 2026–10 January 2027. Included with standard English Heritage admission; free entry for members.

What can families expect?

At Belsay Hall and Wrest Park, pick up a trail map at the visitor centre and seek out twelve decorated sculptures, each with a hidden letter. Collect all twelve letters to reveal a festive mystery word. The experience is an outdoor art trail, so dress for winter weather and check each location’s accessibility and opening arrangements before travelling.

Extra Snowman events in Bath

Bath is also offering opportunities to meet The Snowman™: Thursday 19 November at 4.30pm at SouthGate Bath, and Saturday 21 November at 11.30am and 12.30pm at SouthGate Bath, plus 2pm and 4pm at Bath Abbey. The World of The Snowman™ exhibition runs at Victoria Art Gallery from 20 November 2026 to 28 February 2027; the exhibition is separate from the free outdoor trail and may have admission charges. Bath Philharmonia is also presenting The Snowman with a live orchestra on 19 December at The Forum Bath.
